As a jewellery consultant at Fujimori Kajita, my days are filled with the excitement of helping couples bring their dream engagement rings to life. Every appointment is a journey, a collaboration between craftsmanship, tradition, and the unique stories of our clients.
Our brand is defined by a passion for fine jewellery, where the allure of coloured stones converges with the finesse of Japanese craftsmanship. Hence, Fujimori Kajita celebrates the journey of crafting semi-order and bespoke engagement rings that reflect the love stories of our clients. From the initial consultation to the final presentation, every step is imbued with dedication and attention to detail.
Let's take a closer look at the steps involved:
1. Initial Consultation: This is the first step where the customer meets with a jewellery consultant to discuss their vision, preferences, and budget for the engagement ring. During this consultation, the consultant may ask questions to understand the customer's style, lifestyle, and any specific design elements they desire.
2. Education and Guidance: The consultant educates the customer about different types of metals (such as platinum, 18-karat yellow gold or rose gold) and various gemstones (such as diamonds, sapphires, spinels, tourmalines etc.). They also discuss the cut, colour, size of stone/carat weight) to help the customer make informed decisions about selecting the perfect stone.
3. Stone Selection: Based on the customer's preferences and budget, the consultant assists them in selecting the ideal stone for their engagement ring. This involves examining different stones and considering factors such as size, shape, cut quality, and budget.
4. Design Customisation: Once the stone is selected, the customer works with the consultant (and designer from Japan) to customise the ring's design. This may involve choosing a setting style from our existing semi-order frames (such as solitaire, pavé, or tanzo-made) or a bespoke design from scratch, deciding on side stones or accents, and discussing details like metalwork, engraving, and any special features the customer desires.
5. CAD Design or Wax Model (applicable for bespoke designs only, done in Japan): Like many jewellery companies, Fujimori Kajita use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create a digital rendering of the customised ring based on the customer's specifications. Depending on the design and timeline, we may also offer the option of a wax model or prototype for the customer to review and approve before the final production begins.
6. Production and Setting (done in Japan): Once the design is finalised and approved, the ring goes into production. Skilled craftsmen and artisans handcraft the ring, carefully setting the chosen stone(s) and adding any additional details or finishes specified in the design.
7. Quality Assurance and Inspection (done in both Japan and Singapore): Before the ring is delivered to the customer, it undergoes thorough quality assurance and inspection processes to ensure it meets the company's standards for craftsmanship and quality.
8. Delivery and Presentation: Finally, the completed engagement ring is presented to the customer in a beautiful box or packaging. Documentation such as a certificate of authenticity may be provided (for diamonds and selected gemstones only). The consultant may also provide care instructions to help the customer protect their jewellery.
As your personal jewellery consultant, I will guide you through each step of this process, understanding your preferences and desires, ensuring that your engagement ring not only dazzles the eyes but also touches the heart. Whether it's the brilliance of a diamond or the enchantment of a coloured stone, we explore every possibility to create a ring that resonates with your style and sentiment.
Our commitment to excellence extends beyond the aesthetics of the ring. It's about capturing the essence of your love story and translating it into a timeless piece of art. With each ring, we honour our heritage and the trust you place in us to mark the beginning of your journey together.
So, let's embark on this journey together. Let's create an engagement ring that not only dazzles the eyes but also touches the heart—a ring that embodies the union of tradition, craftsmanship, and love.
